When does dog clothing make sense?
Dogs are animals and not accessories for your own look. That's why dog clothing should always be chosen appropriately.
One reason for wearing dog coats, jackets or sweaters is the breed of dog. Dogs live all over the world and nature has equipped them according to the region. Chihuahua, Dalmatian, Jack Russell Terrier, Boxer or Greyhound get cold and wet, because they come from warm areas. And some breeds are not able to develop winter coat at all. So these dogs should wear a dog coat or dog sweater in the cold and wet season, so they don't freeze.
Also some old or ill dog is glad about a warm sweater. Especially in older animals, the metabolism shuts down and they have a harder time keeping warm. If your dog is sick at the moment, his body should not have to fight the cold additionally. This slows down the healing process.
