Dog clothing - coats, sweaters & more for your friend
Some dogs enjoy a warm sweater or rainproof coat just as much as we humans do. But when is dog clothing useful and when should you do without it for the health and well-being of your pet?
At SABRO, we believe that in some cases, clothing that is adapted to the dog's body is appropriate and even necessary. Here you can find out which dog clothing we offer and when it is suitable. Take a look around and get in touch if you have any questions.
When does dog clothing make sense?
Dogs are animals and not accessories for your own look. That's why dog clothing should always be chosen to fit.
One reason for wearing dog coats, jackets or sweaters is the breed of dog. Dogs live all over the world and nature has equipped them according to the region. Chihuahuas, Dalmatians, Jack Russell Terriers, Boxers and Greyhounds can cope with cold and wet conditions because they come from warm regions. And some breeds can no longer develop a winter coat at all. So these dogs should wear a dog coat or dog sweater in the cold and wet season so that they don't freeze.
Some old or sick dogs also enjoy a warm sweater. Older animals in particular have a slower metabolism and are less able to keep warm. If your dog is ill, his body should not have to fight against the cold. This slows down the healing process.
So if you see that your dog is shivering, react quickly. High-quality and suitable dog clothing ensures that you and your companion can enjoy your walk again.
What to look out for in dog clothing
Only put clothing on your dog if you have a good reason for doing so. This is because animals use their entire body as a means of communication, not just their ears and tail. As much of the body as possible should always remain visible and mobile.
Requirements for dog clothing:
- It must not restrict natural movements.
- Dog clothing should not chafe.
- It offers protection (for example from rain, moisture, cold or heat).
- The clothing must match the coat type.
- It must be washable (hand wash or washing machine).
Comfortable dog clothing for your faithful friend
Which dog clothing is right for your dog? And what size should it be? All products come with the required measurements and the best way to measure them. Then you can choose the right size.
Protection from rain and cold
Our 2-in-1 Kappa outdoor coat is ideal for dogs with very little hair or a very full coat. This is because thick hair tends to get soaked up and then rain and wind cool the body. Older dogs with back problems also prefer to go for a walk with a dry back.
The dog blanket is infinitely adjustable in the neck and chest area. It can be put on and taken off quickly thanks to the Velcro fastener. The material does not let wind or water through and has a soft teddy lining that can be removed if necessary. An additional belly flap protects the chest from getting wet from below.
The large leg openings do not restrict your dog's freedom of movement. In addition, the blanket does not make any noise when walking. This is an important criterion, as dogs may otherwise not accept the clothing.
Reflective strips are attached to the raincoat so that your dog can also be seen in the dark.
Cozy and warm on cold, dry days
Our cuddly soft Himalayan dog sweaters are made from warming alpaca wool from Peru and easy-care synthetic fibers. They are ideal companions on dry and cold days. But they can also be worn indoors or at night in a cold bedroom. Dogs with arthritis and back problems in particular love these pullovers. The anatomical cut hugs the body and leaves enough leg room for free movement.
Ideal after a dog bath
A daily walk with the dog is a must - in all weathers. Some animals take every puddle and every mud hole in their stride. The dog is happy, but also wet and dirty. So after the walk, it needs a cleansing bath. Our SMUTS dog bathrobe made of 100% high-quality bamboo terrycloth is the fluffy end to an exciting outing. It absorbs water quickly and is super comfortable for your dog. Your four-legged friend can dry in peace and there are no splashes of water on the dog blanket, dog bed or dog cushion.
