What is the KUDDE dog bed?
The KUDDE dog bed is much more than just a normal dog bed. It is a well thought-out sleeping system that provides your dog with optimum support - whether puppy, adult dog or senior. We'll tell you which components make up the KUDDE and how you can combine them to suit your dog's preferences. We will focus exclusively on the indoor versions, as the outdoor dog bed differs significantly in terms of technology and material.
The components of the KUDDE dog bed
Our KUDDE dog bed essentially always consists of two components:
- A high-quality, orthopaedic foam core.
- A cover that meets your requirements and matches your dog's preferences.
With certain offers and variants, you also receive an insert or a special cover.
High-quality foam core - two variants for the desired lying comfort
The heart of the KUDDE dog bed is the stable, ergonomically shaped foam core - where the base and edge are firmly connected. There are no loose parts that could slip out of place, making it easier to assemble. There are two types of foam to choose from: Standard and Special. Your dog is always safe and orthopaedically supported.
- KUDDE Standard: A high-quality, dimensionally stable cold foam core that combines comfort and support. It adapts elastically to your dog's body, reducing pressure points and supporting natural posture.
- KUDDE Special (visco): As with the standard KUDDE, the foam core consists of stable cold foam in the edge and base areas. A continuous layer of memory foam (visco foam) is also firmly integrated into the lying surface. This layer reacts specifically to your dog's body heat and adapts particularly gently and individually. The result is even more effective pressure relief, which is particularly beneficial for older dogs and animals with back or joint problems, while also promoting blood circulation.
Quality you can feel: both foam variants are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and are manufactured in Germany. They impress with their breathable structure, which ensures a pleasant sleeping climate. They are particularly durable and resistant to daily use. Thanks to their temperature-resistant properties, they are ideal for use on underfloor heating systems.
The right cover for your KUDDE: faux leather, vegan suede or fabric
Choosing the right cover can be difficult, but we make it easy for you. Thanks to the sophisticated sleeping system, you can change the covers of your KUDDE flexibly and give your dog bed a new look in no time at all.
We differentiate between basic covers and fabric covers:
Basic covers
Base covers are pulled directly over the foam core of your KUDDE. They protect against dirt and moisture - and are particularly easy to clean as they can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The base covers include:
- Leatherette covers (special editions in pastel and terra colors)
- Covers made from vegan suede (suede look)
- Protective cover - this is used as a basic cover under a fabric cover if no artificial leather or suede cover is available. It is automatically included with all KUDDE dog beds with a fabric cover (e.g. KUDDE Cord). The protective cover cannot be purchased separately and cannot be used without a fabric cover.
Important: Base covers cannot be pulled over each other. For example, if you use a KUDDE Cord with a protective cover and want to switch to artificial leather later, you must remove the protective cover first - base covers replace each other!
Fabric covers
Fabric covers are comfort covers and are always used over a base cover, as they do not offer any protection against moisture or dirt. However, they are machine washable.
If you order a ready-made KUDDE with a fabric cover, a rubberized protective cover is included in the scope of delivery. An additional basic cover (e.g. artificial leather) is then not included.

Good to know: The underside of all KUDDE covers consists of an air-permeable fabric that ensures optimum ventilation of the foam core.
Switching made easy
You can redesign your KUDDE at any time - depending on the season, your taste or your needs. The only important thing is that the bed and cover are the same size. For example:
- Are you currently using faux leather and want to switch to corduroy? → Simply pull the corduroy cover directly over it - that's it, no conversion required.
- Would you prefer vegan suede instead of faux leather? → In that case, replace the entire cover - it's also quick and easy.
Care & cleaning
Imitation leather cover
Simply wipe with water or mild detergent - not suitable for the washing machine! For optimum durability, we recommend using a combination of special cleaner and KUDDE Balsam.
Vegan suede cover

Protective cover

Fabric covers & inserts:
Washable at 30-40 °C depending on the material and some are suitable for tumble drying. Please follow the care instructions for the respective product. For the best result, we recommend lightly pre-cleaning the fabric with a lint roller beforehand.
Foam
The foam core must not be washed or dried! If it comes into contact with liquid, allow it to dry completely before putting on a cover and using it again.

The most important points in brief:
- Fabric covers must always be used with a base cover underneath.
- All covers are available separately - so you can reorder and replace them at any time. Exception: protective cover.
- Basic covers cannot be combined. If you want to change from imitation leather to suede, for example, the old cover must be removed first.
